SURREY GOLF TEXT 2016_Surrey Golf Inside 06 03/03/2016 07:42 Page 36 The Final burst into life with a eagle 3 from Primrose at the 15th, and after a Corben drive at 16 found the rhododendrons there was only 1 in it with 2 to play. Corben holed a 7ft putt for an important half at 17 and then another 6ft putt on the last green to win the Championship after Primrose narrowly missed his birdie putt. Many congratulations to both Finalists on a great spectacle. Mid-Age Championship Due to the weather, the County Golf Committee has decided to use the result of the Morning Rou nd only - the afternoon was cancelled. A few weeks later the two players with the best score played an 18-hole play-off, with David Primrose the winner with a score of 70 against John Cassidy’s score of 72. The Mid Age Team trophy was won by Royal Wimbledon GC.
