pay only £6.00 to Surrey Golf instead of £8.00. Members belonging to two or more Surrey

COUNTY CARD SCHEME
A few years ago, it was agreed that, in order to stimulate green fee income, and to give added
value to membership of a Surrey Club, a free county card would be given to all Surrey Club
non-junior golfing members. This has proved most popular, and will continue in 2016.
The county card meetings were again well supported, giving Surrey members an opportunity
to play the best courses in the county under competition conditions.
COUNTY RE-ORGANISATION
In 2013 it was agreed that the SCGU should become an incorporated company by guarantee,
and a new constitution was unanimously approved. Every Club within the Union has now
agreed to join the new company Surrey County Golf Ltd. This reorganisation has proved to be
a great success and several Clubs are now deciding to incorporate in a similar way.
ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING
This will be held at Tyrells Wood Golf Club at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd March 2016

organised by the South East Group. Matches are now played against local counties at every
age-group as well as first team and seniors levels.
As a result of our junior coaching programmes, the standard of our junior elite players
continues to improve, with a number of them representing their country, and with even more
winning scholarships to USA universities
It was gratifying to see that our stars from the last few years, Adam Gee, James Heath, and
James Morrison playing on the European Tour, joining Ross Fisher, Ross McGowan,
Seve Benson and of course Paul Casey on the tour in 2015. We wish them the best of luck this
year.
Our programmes provide a player pathway through from the RookieTour, the County
Academy Programme, Junior Elite teams, to the County First Team and Regional Training.
Our Development Officers, Caroline and Amanda, working for the Surrey Golf Partnership
(recognised as the best Partnership in England) continue to organise golf taster days for
