EMMA FLETT
David Lammin has worked as the Club
Development Officer (Sunshine Coast) since
mid-2009 and has been a vital conduit in
ensuring the Sunshine Coast and greater
Northern region is delivered the full range of
benefits on offer from Surfing Queensland.
Prior to joining Surfing Queensland, Dave held
the role of programs co-ordinator / lifesaving
development officer for Surf Life Saving
Queensland (Sunshine Coast).
During the last 20 years Alan has held General
Manager and CFO roles across a diverse
range of industries as well as 3 years in Local
Government as the CEO for the Shire of Shark
Bay. (Alan was the first person in Western
Australia to be appointed the Chief Executive
Officer of a Local Government from private
enterprise, which required Ministerial Approval).
His experience spans across many industries
and his leadership skills come from managing
companies with turnover in excess of $100
million and significant staff levels (450).
Emma joined the Surfing Queensland team late
in 2012 as the Administration and Accounts
Officer. After completing her secondary
schooling in the country town of Gunnedah, New
South Wales, Emma moved on to Coffs Harbour
to attend Business College and complete a
Certificate in Advanced Secretarial Studies.
Dave has vast experience in the field of sports
development and his qualifications include
a Certificate IV ‘Training and Assessment’,
Certificate II ‘Public Safety’ (Aquatic Rescue),
Apply First Aid Certificate, Advanced
Resuscitation Techniques, Level 1 ‘Surf & SUP
coaching’ accreditation, Level 1 ‘International
Judging and Officiating’ accreditation and is
currently completing a Masters of International
Sport Management through Southern Cross
University.
Alan’s formal qualifications (3) include a
Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy), Graduate
Diploma in Marketing and a Diploma in
Technical Analysis.
Emma’s involvement in a number of different
industries over many years has provided her
with extensive knowledge and experience. Her
genuine care for clients is evident in her high
level of customer service. Emma is generally
the first point of contact, taking care of phone
enquires and dealing with our memberships,
event entries and registrations. Working closely
with our Operations Manager, Emma ensures
the smooth and efficient running of Surfing
Queensland’s head office.
In the past, Dave has been an owner/operator
of several affiliated Surfing Queensland Surf
Schools and has also performed in the role of
manager and surf guide in some of the world’s
most exotic surf locations during his tenure with
Tropic Surf. Dave has a genuine passion for
the sport of surfing and his particular interest
in ‘grassroots’ development of the sport has
provided many benefits to the broader Surfing
Queensland network.
