As part of Surfing Australia’s Sport Development Pathway,
The Subway Surf Series has given Reef the perfect springboard
for senior competition at the highest level.
“It's given me a lot of confidence to know that I had the
ability to be consistent over the series and to win three. To
do well on the QS you have to be able to focus to maintain
consistency. I feel like I'm building a solid achievement base
which is confidence boosting. I'm frothing to be able to add
this achievement to my U16 Australian title in 2014.”
The right training and diet is an essential part of becoming
a professional surfer in the modern era and Reef takes this
aspect of his development extremely seriously, utilizing the
massive resource that is the Hurley Surfing Australia High
Performance Centre (HPC) whenever possible.
“Having been away a fair bit combined with living on
the Sunny Coast I don't get down to the HPC as often as I
would like. I've been working with Josh Secombe and Tim
McDonald, really building strength and being explosive and
to maintain mobility.”
“When I get to check in at the HPC I catch up with coaches
down there. It was awesome to have Clancy at the Wo
