“I knew if a wave came I could get the score, but it just didn’t look like one would come so I was pretty glad when I got one as they were counting down. I don’t usually go so well when the waves are small like this so I’m stoked to win,” said Ewing. Enright kept busy in the final against Alyssa Lock (Tweed Heads, NSW), taking off on a number of waves, finding two that opened up enough for her to complete a number of manoeuvres, a hard feat in small conditions. Event 6 saw the series travel to the pristine shores of Phillip Island on March 5 and 6 with Ethan Ewing getting back-to-back wins while India Robinson took out the girls under 18 title. “This is my first time to Victoria and I am really stoked to win the event” said Ewing. “I really like the feel of the area, it reminds me of home”. India Robinson said: “I had some slow heats at the start of the event, I really worked hard to build my totals and I am more than stoked with the result”. The series reinforces the Subway® brand’s commitment to healthy active living. Proudly supported by WSL, Surfing Australia and Billabong, it was created to fill a competition void which exists at a crucial point in the development of Australia’s leading junior surfers.
