PUMPS & FILTRATION SIEBEC L-TECH ® PLEATED HIGHFLOW CARTRIDGES for Electroplating Filters The L-TECH ® fi ltration cartridges are being used successfully on many different plating solutions including Zinc, Nickel, Tin, Copper and Chrome. This brief article explains the benefi ts of L-TECH ® cartridge for high quality Nickel plating delivering high quality and low operational cost. DIRT HOLDING CAPACITY. The L-TECH ® large pleated cartridge is a surface filter, capturing dirt/sludge on the surface which is one of the reasons why the L-TECH ® cartridge is simple to clean and re-use. With a massive 5m² of surface area, a large amount of sludge/dirt can be retained before fully loaded. When compared to wound cartridges the L-TECH ® last longer, maintains a high flow rate at low micron ratings as the pressure differential increases at a steady rate as the cartridge loads. Trials show that the L-TECH 1µ will remove 4 times as much dirt/sludge as the equivalent volume of 1µ wound cartridges and maintain a higher actual flow rate through the filter for much longer. As cartridges are fabricated from 100% pure material, they do not need any antistatic agents for their manufacture, so they will not introduce organics into the plating solution. FILTRATION EFFICIENCY at nominated porosity. The 1µ L-TECH ® is rated β300 meaning the efficiency is at least 99.6% efficient so virtually no particulates greater than the rated pore size pass through the filter media from start-up. Typically, wound cartridges are 70% efficient so from every 100 particulates who’s size is equal to or greater than the nominal size (µ), 40 30 will pass through the media which are larger or equal to the nominal µ.
