HMG’s paint heads
to the Speedway track
Having previously seen
their coatings on track
at events such as the Le
Mans 24 Hours and the
X-Games, Manchester
based HMG Paints’ coatings
will be heading to the
Speedway track in 2020.
The companies Powder
Coatings and Wet Paint will
be used by young talent
Billy Budd, who was signed
by Birmingham Brummies
to be their new club mascot
for 2020.
The 12-year-old,
from Ellesmere
Port, began riding
Formula Grass Track
at the age of six and
progressed through
the auto cadets into
the cubs at the age
of eight. Having won
the cubs title twice
Billy moved up to the
juniors a year early
and impressed club
bosses as he was
crowned Champion
last season.

For the coming season Billy’s bike will utilise
HMG’s high-performance coatings and
flexible PVC coatings as he competes in the
Speedway Youth Series, with his sights fixed
on gaining rides in the Northern Junior
League. Speedway Bikes have no brakes, just
one gear, a clutch and 500cc engine can
accelerate to 60 mph faster than a Formula
One car.
