ELECTROPLATING, ANODISING & GALVANIZING Jacquet Weston Engineering – bringing experience, quality and technology to every process line Since the early 1970’s, family run Jacquet Weston Engineering Ltd. (JWE) has built a leading reputation for the design and manufacture of anodising and surface fi nishing equipment – both at home and internationally. Nick Weston, Managing Director at the company’s base near Newbury believes its growing success is based on a clearly defi ned series of factors. 46 “We have invested heavily in our design and quality control facilities for a number of years and are the only UK plant supplier with ISO 9001-2015, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 and JOSCAR approval as well as a state-of-the- art 3D Inventor design facility which allows us to run FEA stress analysis on all of our major components prior to manufacture,” he says. “This ensures that they comply with the appropriate British and European standards.” One of the largest UK company’s in its field, JWE fulfils a range of application needs from traditional installations – including acid, alkali and zinc – to specialist facilities that include E-coat paint, aluminium treatment using tartaric, sulphuric, chromic, boric and hard anodising processes. Installations range from small manual facilities to large acid and zinc barrel lines capable of producing four tonnes of work per hour and can incorporate purpose-designed loading and unloading systems. AUGUST 2019 Apart from its own in-house manufacturing capability, the organisation also turns to Europe for the supply of a wide range of ancillary equipment. These include La Fonte filter units, Giussani rectifiers, Lando Mario spin dryers, Progalvano barrel units and Scandymet heaters. “Our service is, of course, always centred on ensuring that the design of a line accommodates each customer’s specific requirements and objectives,” continues Nick Weston. “This is where our expertise and detailed use of leading design tools, including Autodesk Inventor software to produce 2D and 3D drawings, can help to create plant layouts, animations and ‘fly-throughs’ that visualise operational procedures.” Significantly, JWE has noted a number of recent developments in the marketplace which, in many cases, help to shape its role. twitter: @surfaceworldmag
