1. Informal letter from rep requesting clarification or back pay
Subject: Pay concerns – request for clarification and resolution Dear.............................. [ Employer ],
I am writing on behalf of [ worker’ s name ] to raise concerns about their pay and seek an informal resolution. We believe there may have been breaches of employment law, specifically:
• Payment below the National Minimum Wage( National Minimum Wage Act 1998)
• Unauthorised deductions from wages( Employment Rights Act 1996, Section 13)
• Failure to pay for working time, including travel between assignments
We request a written response setting out:
1. A full breakdown of how wages have been calculated 2. All deductions made and their basis 3. The hourly rate applied
We are keen to resolve this matter directly and ask that any shortfalls in pay be addressed promptly. Please respond within 14 days. If no resolution is reached, we may escalate the matter to HMRC or seek legal advice.
