ARLINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY DISCOVER SUMMER SERIES SETS RECORD PARTICIPATION RATE
The Arlington Public Library ’ s Summer Reading Club , known as Discover Summer , was a great success for in 2024 . Over 4,100 patrons registered for the Discover Summer Challenge , with a 63 % completion rate . This completion rate marked a new record since the move to utilizing the Beanstack app that tracks Challenge completions .
426 programs were hosted this summer that brought in almost 11,000 attendees to these programs . Some of the programs included The Texas Ranger ’ s Storytime with Eric Nadel , an Author Talk with Varian Johnson , multiple partnership programs that required additional programs be created such as the Alzheimer ’ s Awareness series and the Sound Baths .
Through June and July alone , around 136,000 patrons have walked through the Arlington Public Library ’ s doors and over 2,000 prizes were given to patrons who completed Discover Summer Challenges , which also set a record .
