to learn for themselves
The way that people like to access learning has
changed. If you think about the way in which we
gather information in our personal lives
(e.g. reviewing which television to buy, learning how
to bake a cake), it is easy to understand why learning
within business and education has changed too.
At Specsavers, we believe learning should be self led and
all of our new training packages come with many different
ways to learn such as online modules, videos, classroom,
guides etc. It is important to embrace this culture of
learning and encourage all staff colleagues to take
responsibility for their own development.
There are many fantastic benefits to learners in taking
responsibility for their learning; they can learn only what
they need to learn, they can choose what, when and how
they learn and are given the opportunity to be curious.
It’s great for their self confidence and allows them to focus
on what they want to explore in more detail.
