Specialist Training – Unqualified
Once you have completed your recruit training you will begin your Basic Specialisation Training at an RAF Reserves Squadron. It is this training that will provide you with the necessary skills required to do your job.
RAF Reserve Logistic( Supply) Basic Training commences with the Foundation Module which will give you the underpinning knowledge that will enable you to commence one of the 3 main modules listed below:-
Receipt and Despatch. Process receipts through to the correct end user and / or locating items correctly in appropriately equipment warehouses. Packing item to the correct standard ready for despatch to both UK and overseas destinations.
Stockholding Group. Store and pick stock, general warehousing, stocktaking and management of equipment packs within a Mobility Supply Flight.
Supply Accounting. Place and progress orders, process receipting errors, manage account documentation; manage stocktaking programme and records for equipment held forward and on loan.
Each module has an element of work-based employment, enabling you to build on the training you have received and complete your Professional Workplace Assessment( PWA). PWA are made up of Part A, which focuses on Health & Safety and Fire Safety issues, is delivered at unit level by RAF Regiment and Fire Section personnel. Part B is in the form of a Logistics( Supplier) Specialisation Competence Logbook that focuses primarily on specialisation related practical assessments in the workplace.
On completion of Foundation Module plus one other, you can be utilised within that modular specialisation on both UK and Overseas units.
