SEEDINGS The entire field is seeded with an alphabetical letter as part of their race number . This letter will correspond to the pens at the start , and you may start in a seeding group behind yours , but NOT in one ahead . Runners will be seeded according to the qualifying times they provided . If no qualifying time is provided , then the runner will start in group E .

SPECTATOR SPOTS Spectator spots can be found at various locations along the route . Our supporters guide can be found on the
TOG BAGS The DHL tog bag service will be available on the day of the race in P1 Upper Campus Parking area at the UCT Finish . Runners can make use of the DHL tog bag trucks that will be available at the start from 04h00 . After the start , tog bags will be taken back to the finish venue . Runners must ensure tog bags are labelled with their names on the inside in case they lose their tags . Every care will be taken to ensure that the bags are safeguarded , but runners are advised not to leave expensive or valuable items in their bags , as OMTOM cannot accept responsibility for any loss of items or tog bags .

SUBSTITUTIONS Runners who wish to substitute may do so between 9 January and 28 February 2018 , via the OMTOM entry system only . START
• 21km : The Half Marathon starts in front of the Ultra start area in Main Road , Newlands . Note the 21km start times *: A-C : 05h50 ; D : 06h00 ; E : 06h10 . The start is within 2km walking distance of the UCT Finish .
• 56km : The Ultra Marathon starts at 06h30 *, after the Half Marathon , outside South African Breweries at the bottom of Dean Street , on the Main Road .

TOILETS Please use the toilets that are available at the UCT Finish and at the start . Please leave the toilet in the same state that you would like to find it . Numerous complaints have been received in the past from the public whose private property has been fouled . This sort of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated . There will be toilets at the start and finish and at all refreshments stations along the route .

UPDATES All updates to your online profile such as your qualifiers and 2018 club license number must be made by 5pm on 28 February 2018 . Runners who fail to meet this deadline will forfeit their entry . No changes can be made after this time .

YELLOW NUMBERS Runners doing their 10th Ultra or Half Marathon will have yellow numbers . Those earning their blue , double blue or triple blue numbers are requested to finish on the right-hand side of the finish straight . Marshals will be at the finish to guide you to a special area where you will be awarded with your relevant permanent blue number and will be photographed . Runners who have achieved their permanent light blue ( 21km ) or blue number ( 56km ) are invited to the Blue Number Club on race day , which is situated on the M3 side of the finish area , near the footbridge over the finish straight .
