Commercial models
Commercial work is usually based on conventional beauty. While
having a face that stands out is good, the unique, odd features of
many editorial and runway models may not fare so well in
commercial work.
Basic requirements for Commercial modeling:
Females
Height: 5’7”– 6’0”
Bust: 32”– 34”
Waist: 23”–25”
Hips: 33”–35”
Males
Thin, tall body type
Commercials
No minimum height. Only clothing sizes vary.
Females
Dress size between 2 to 4 (sometimes extending to 6)
Males
Waist: 31”–35”
Commercial modeling has great potential, as height is not an issue;
it opens doors for a lot more models. But there are specific requirements. Acting plays a big role in commercial modeling, as you need
to sell a specific product with a certain sense of emotion. This means
you will have to invest in commercial acting classes. Outside of ability, most commercial actors are thin and fit with conventionally attractive looks. Overall commercial modeling pays well, but be sure
to do research on every job requirement, and the brand you will be
presenting. Money is not everything, you don’t want to get to a set
where you are not respected and looked after. Keep your reputation
in mind when doing certain jobs.
