LIFESTYLE CLEAN UP YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA ACT No one wants to read about your latest drama. Fights are for I have been there. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have ground for many modern wars and employees will most lik these platforms before employing you – I know, because I ha a boozing, naked, immature kid who parties too hard, workin profile pic? Pixilation and flaunting sexuality is very 2002. Go wear some clothes. KNOW YOUR BRAND Within seconds of meeting you people will decide if they will be friends with yo or even talk to you. Knowing your brand helps you direct the image you want to po people who you are and what you are about before you even speak. Brand Identity is a whole article on its own, but you should be in complete control of the message you are sending out to others. WORK HARD AND THEN SOME... I started my first business when I was 19 and opened my first cabaret theatre when I was 22. This sounds pretty cool and I often get compliments on this ‘achievement’; although very few people saw the hours and hours that went into making that dream a reality. Some nights (most nights) were spent drawing up business plans while friends were out partying. At one stage I even held three jobs and did club-promo’s to keep the theatre open. Yes, dreams take hard work. They take dedi cation and sacrifice... Nothing comes from nothing. If you are not willing to make the sacrifice, you better start thinking of something else to do with your life, because if it is not a passion and something you are willing to invest your life in, you will lose interest before you reap rewards. Yes, dreams take hard work. They take dedication and sacrifice... Nothing comes from nothing. STOP BUILDING EMPIRES AND START MAKING A DIFFERENCE Up to very recently I often posted statuses and pictures with the hashtag #Buildinganempire... Up until I stopped and thought: “BUT WHY... AND FOR WHOM?” These ‘empires’ are more often than not selfish pursuits done only for our own interest to build our own fortune... The real fortune is in being a good human and making a difference to those around you. So stop building imaginary castles, and rather build forts to protect the ones you love and make a difference in the lives of others, even if it is in the smallest way possible. ALWAYS BE ON TIME It may seem weird to put this in my top 10 but being on time is a part of your integrity. (I know cause I used to run late all the time) until I understood that being on time is part of honourin person or job you have a commitment to. Parties, traffic, oversleeping, getting lost and ten other es may all be valid reasons for your incompetence. (I have used them all, some were even true you are late, you are wasting the time others invest in you – Remember TIME is a form of respect STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF Make sure that when you say yes to others that you do not say no to yourself. Stay true to your v trust that small voice which guides your moral compass. Life speaks softly, and if we do not listen it audibly in ways we do not always appreciate. Stay true to what you know in your heart is right – h age, and don’t ever be afraid to take those small windows of opportunity life hands you. Every m portunity was a chance you could’ve used to change the life you so desperately seek escap brace it.
