Matomola Mwange,
better known as MJ,
is a doctor any patient
wouldn’t mind going to
see.
With a charismatic down to earth personality MJ, a qualified doctor by profession,
took it on himself to lend the fashion industry some of his talent. “When I was in
varsity I started off as an underwear
model. The push came from my sister
who constantly nagged about my body,
so I gave it a try.
With the hope to reach borders, he now is
the ambassador for International brand
Otto Muhr where he has worn international brands such as Polo, Gant, Pringle,
Diesel, Palladium, Enrico Coveri, Barbour,
K•WISS, Lacoste, Carducci, Viyella,
Crocket & Jones, Palzini, and Ben Sherman.
It’s a job and I love doing it. As much as I
see it as a job it too is a hobby.” One
would wonder why he would even hide
such talents. MJ recently modeled at a
MAC lip launch in Namibia and continues to advise that his only down fall in
fashion has been the transition from
being doctor to being a model with
showing up for castings etc.
Describing his personal fashion as laid
back with a ting around the edges, it’s
unbelievable that MJ is single, but ladies’
resumes can surely be sent through.
He says he can only hope his work will inspire fellow models as the industry is not
an easy one. “You can easily be replaced, so value the moment. Reach for
your dreams, fear is the only thing that will
hold you back.” MJ seems to be the epitome of ‘multi-tasking’ so who said a man
can only do one thing at a time?
