Tammy-Ann: A Desert Beauty 17-year old Tammy-Ann Solomons is a typical teenager who loves to cook, design clothes and participate in sports such as swimming, basketball, tennis and volleyball. However, this native from Walvis Bay in Namibia has somewhat bigger dreams than her average counterpart. She has her sights set on an international education and making it as a model, singer and actor. This December, Tammy-Ann will join a handpicked group of talented youngsters for the bi- nnual AMTC Convention in Orlando, a Florida, where she will showcase her talent to some of the most influential agents, scouts and management groups. Supermodels SA asked this talented teen a few questions; Tell us a little about yourself? I was actually born in the Paarl in South Africa in 1997 but in 2006 we moved to Namibia. I’m home schooled and are currently busy with my Grade 10 and 11 years. I will be finishing my high school diploma next year. I really enjoy being home schooled as it allows me to focus on my modelling while at the same time doing my school work. It requires a lot of discipline but it’s worth it! I love all facets of entertainment, it’s my life! I would really love to study drama in Los Angeles at UCLA . I love doing Acting, Singing, Modelling and Fashion Designing. Have you participated in competitions and productions? I’ve actually participated in a number of events, especially in school. Before being home schooled I attended a private Christian school and this allowed me to take part in various plays such as Noah and the Ark. Most of the time I was cast as the lead character and this sparked my interest in acting. In 2012 I won Miss Teen Walvis Bay and the year after that I was crowned Miss De Duine. I also signed up for the NBC television series talent search, Trustco Star Performer. I made it to the Top 50 and at the same time also reached the Top 5 for Miss Teenager Namibia.
