Prep  School     Ties  and  dress  shoes.  Dress  pants  no  slacks.   I  remember  touching  foreheads  with  you  on  the  swing  set.   Wood  chips  at  our  feet  we  would  whistle   the  Music  Man  together   and  talk  about  90’s  TV.     But  that  tie   was  considered  a  sacrifice   for  you.  Hoodies   and  baggie  jeans   every  day  you  weren’t   in  school.     Until  the  day  you  changed  into  pint  stripe   pajamas.     By  Shannon  McDonald                                                       13
