to getting wet, because your body temperature will warm any water that soaks into the fabric.
Accessories
There are plenty of accessories that will help aid your paddling experience in autumn. The low sun in the evenings this time of year may require sunglasses. You may also want to pack a warm hat to keep your head toasty as the temperature drops. If you’ re planning to paddle in the evenings as it gets darker, a head torch is essential to ensure you’ re visible on the water. Of course, with safety in mind, we always recommend bringing a means of communication when you paddle, so you can call for help if you get into difficulty. A waterproof phone case is an excellent accessory for all year round.
Don’ t forget to protect yourself from the sun, too. It may be colder, but the sun can still be bright, and those UV rays still beam down from the sun. So make the most of being able to layer up, stick a
hat on to shade your face, and make sure you have some sun cream or an SPF-rated moisturiser on whenever you hit the water.
