From the Arenal , you can head south to the beautiful Granadella beach or north to the neighbouring town of Denia . If you do plan these more adventurous trips , make sure you check the weather . The wind and ocean swell are significant factors , and things can get challenging quite quickly . One of the things I like about paddling in the area is the extensive use of buoys , which demarcate where powered vessels can and can ’ t go . When the holiday season comes , these are invaluable for providing a protected environment for paddlers .
