said yes and charged us £ 20 . We then rang the Caravan and Motorhome Club to change our arrival date to the following night and remained at Camping Alpenblick . We enjoyed a terrific thunderstorm , got up early , and took the paddleboard to the lake .
Neither of us has tried paddle boarding . Sue has a bad hip from falling off a horse , and I have worn out my knees . I ’ m 51 , but my knees feel 81 . Sue launched her kayak and filmed my first attempt to get on a paddleboard . This was made easier using the gradual slope of a boat ramp . I got on a bit shaky , but I was on my knees and paddling , albeit tentatively .
Hugging a post
I was having fun , so I tried to stand up . I couldn ’ t work out how to get off my knees , so I paddled over to a row of posts in the water that appeared to protect the bank from larger boats . I grabbed hold of one and found it impossible to slide my feet with my Gul cold-weather boots on . Eventually , hugging the post , I got to my feet and went straight into the water .
I got back on and tried again . Unable to balance at all , I was straight back into the water . I decided this time to sit on the paddleboard , paddle back to the ramp and start again . I fell in backwards as I tried to climb on in a sitting position . We had a great laugh at me trying to paddleboard . I don ’ t know how you guys and gals do it . But we will not stop , even if it means we just make funny fail videos for you to laugh at .

Conclusion
Overall , even with the van problems costing us time and money , a total bill of € 1725 , and missing our bucket list paddle of Venice , we enjoyed our holiday , and we will be attempting the trip again next year .
