Pan-O-Prog Parade
Lakes, parks, cultural spots,
Lakeville’s history revolves around Lake Marion,
Antlers Park, the railroad and its connections to the
greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The
community is located less than 30 miles from the
downtowns of both cities and within 15 minutes of
the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The
city has been one of the fastest growing communi-
ties in the state for many years. With a population
of more than 62,000, Lakeville also has an active and
growing business community, with over 1,000 busi-
nesses and several industrial and business parks.
The 38-square mile city of Lakeville has more
than 100 miles of pedestrian and bike trails, over
1,100 acres of public parks and open space, 62 pub-
lic facilities and several beautiful lakes. From pick-
leball courts, disc golf, a playground named Land
of Amazement 2.0, to an off-road mountain bike
course and a dog park, there are plenty of amenities
for young and old. Excellent schools, an arts center,
the Heritage Center for seniors and other groups,
and a wide variety of recreational opportunities add
to the community spirit and quality of life enjoyed
by residents.
