Many ways to enjoy parks
With a name like Lakeville, it should come as no
surprise that the city has many outdoor parks and
facilities, and several lakes, so people can enjoy an
abundance of water and scenic beauty.
The city has more than 1,100 acres of protected park
land, including over 60 neighborhood and commu-
nity parks featuring playgrounds, open air shelters,
biking and walking trails, hockey rinks and athletic
complexes. The city also features 19 conservation ar-
eas, seven greenways and 100 miles of multipurpose
trails.
Among the jewels of Lakeville’s park system is Rit-
ter Farm, a sprawling 340-acre community park locat-
ed at 19300 Ritter Trail. With hiking and cross-country
ski trails, the park also has lake access to fi shing, pic-
nic areas, an archery range and a fi ve-acre dog park.
Antlers Park is another of the city’s most popular
parks. Located along the shores of Lake Marion at
9740 201st St. W., the 12-acre park offers a public beach
for swimmers, volleyball courts, walking paths, picnic
shelters, horseshoe pits and a playground.
Avid off-road bike riders can enjoy the West Lake
Marion Mountain Bike Trail adjacent to Casperson
Park, which offers close to 5 miles of mountain bike
trails for beginners, intermediate and advance riders.
Lakeville has several athletic facilities, featuring soft-
ball, baseball and soccer fi elds, along with picnic shelters,
trails and playgrounds, highlighted by Aronson Park,
which teams with Quigley-Sime Park, located at 8250
202nd St. W. Aronson is also the home to Lakeville’s Vet-
erans Memorial. Steve Michaud Park at 17100 Ipava Av-
enue features the recently installed Land of Amazement
2.0 playground.
