The city of Apple Valley is known for being a vibrant
hub of shopping and recreational activity in Dakota
County. Its central location make the numerous busi-

Most of the regional draw starts at one of the busi-

Road 42 and Cedar Avenue. Surrounding this junc-
tion are restaurants of a wide variety offering a slice
of worldwide ethnic cuisine and American standards.
One can also fi nd nearly every kind of shopping desire
from major retailers to niche businesses offering unique
items.
Apple Valley is home to a range of amenities, includ-
ing the state-operated Minnesota Zoo and the city-run
Valleywood Golf Course, Apple Valley Aquatic Center,
Redwood Community Pool, Apple Valley Community
Center, Apple Valley Senior Center and 53 parks. The
city has been named one of the most bike-friendly cit-
ies in the nation and it scores well on transit options as
the Apple Valley Transit Station is one of the busiest in
the state. The addition of the Red Line Bus Rapid Tran-
sit service that runs throughout the day in a loop from
Apple Valley to the Mall of America offers residents a
new way to commute for work or fun.
Apple Valley has scored well in past surveys for be-
ing a place that has options for seniors, commuters and
