However, despite the fact that Queen
was loved by many people, some criticized
them. But still, they achieved a lot. Bohemian
Rhapsody which was untypically long for that
time, took the hearts of the listeners. Later,
the public called it the best song of the
second millennium. By the way, it`s been called
the first ever music video.
In 1980s the group changed their style in
music and Freddie Mercury changed his style
as well. He got his hair cut and started wearing
moustache. He also started wearing more
“decent” outfits. "To be honest. I'd like people
to think there is no falsity in me because what I
do is really my character. But I think mystique,
not knowing the truth about someone, is very
appealing. I'd be doing myself an injustice if I
didn't wear makeup because some people
think it's wrong. There's a lot of freedom today
and you can put yourself across anyway you
want to. But I haven't CHOSEN this image. I'm
myself and in fact half the time I let the wind
take me”. 1982 was the most productive year in
the history of Queen`s career as they gave 70
concerts all around the world.
Soon, rumors started appearing. The
public didn't stop speaking about Freddie
Mercury's disease. However, neither Freddie,
nor the group's members confirmed the
gossips. But unfortunately, they were true.
Freddie Mercury died on November 24, 1991 of
pneumonia resulting from AIDS. Queen lost the
voice and the heart of the band at the same
time. After Mercury's death, in 1995 the group
dropped the last ever album. Later on they
existed and performed with other soloists.

Freddie Mercury, that's why the group was no
longer successful. Nowadays there are only
two members of Queen - Brayan May and
Roger Taylor. They play as special guests on
various TV-shows, concerts, etc.
Nowadays Queen's songs still give the
listeners a wide spectrum of different
emotions - people smile, people dance, people
burst into tears, people know the lyrics and
sing along with Queen. For me Queen is much
more than just music. Queen is always with me
- in speakers and in my heart. Every time I listen
to their songs, they make me cry and laugh,
they put me into the happiest mood or make
me thoughtful. Once Queen`s fan, forever the
Queen`s fan. And sometimes I really do think,
or better say feel, the memory to the group
and the soloist lives all over the world. There
are monuments, which are dedicated to
Freddie Mercury, awards and shows and the
group's songs are used in many movies.
Speaking about movies, in November the
movie called Bohemian Rhapsody was
released. It became one of the most
successful films of 2018. People, who had never
listened to Queen became their greatest fans.
Those, who had always loved them, fell in love
again. There was no single person, who was
not impressed by the bright colours, amazing
music, and the story, which was told so truly.
