PROSE The Main Dream (childhood memories) Irina Akimova Skovorodino (Russia) It was snowing outside; the falling snow was sparkling in the light of a street lamp. My sister and I were watching this dance, fascinated; we didn't turn on the indoor lights, in order to see our grandmother from a distance, who promised to come, but she never showed up. Parents were coming late from the work. - Let's look for the biggest and most beautiful snowflake. I remember, grandmother said that it could make people's dreams come true, - suggested my sister. But it was snowing with powder snow, and we didn't notice how we had fallen asleep. Half-asleep, I heard parents talking about grandmother's getting sick. And, suddenly, I saw this big and beautiful snowflake, it stuck to our window. And I started to speak of my dreams in a hurry: - I wish us to have a lot of candies and mandarins for the New Year Holiday, wish for our New Year's costumes at school to be recognized as the best ones, that our mom and dad don't work on the holiday and my grandmother would get better quickly. In the morning, when I woke up, our grandmother stood by our bed, smiling. I thought that this probably had been the most important dream and therefore it had come true. We celebrated the New Year together, and merrily divided two tangerines and ten candies in equal parts. Maria Gerasimenko February 2019 №2 SUNRISE 17
