SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES & ENTREPRENEURS
Recovery Friendly Workplaces
By the end of 2025, 21 workplaces had joined the Washington County Recovery Friendly Workplace Network, supporting more than 1,500 employees across Washington County.
Launched in 2024 and co-led by SCEC and the Community Caring Collaborative, the network provides workplaces with tools, training, resources, and recoverysupportive practices to increase wellness for employers and employees. Learn more about the network at recoveryfriendlydowneast. org.
Workforce Education
SCEC staff worked on promotion and outreach for the Aquaculture Technology program at Washington County Community College, the first two-year aquaculture degree program in Maine, delivered in partnership with Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center.
SCEC staff also developed an on-demand course to prepare individuals for careers in the Maine forest products sector, in partnership with FORMaine, UMaine, Maine Development Foundation, MaineTREE, and Rural Aspirations.
MaineStreet Business Building( MSBB)
