Education is the Future

Everyone in the world has been greatly impacted in some way because of online education . With both positive and negative effects on our learning and life , online learning is a big shift towards the future path of education . Mexico , one of the countries known for the worst system of education , has received a great negative impact from the pandemic on the education system of low-resourced communities .
The pandemic has made these communities have more expenses in their families and raised the lack of education being received , therefore being late on certain subjects and affecting the future these people have .
Before transitioning into online learning , public schools in low-resourced communities in Mexico used to do most of their work through physical materials and rarely would use technological devices , plus the school would provide most materials for them . Due to the pandemic , these kids are now expected to take their classes through a mobile device , which is a great expense for these families . Several of the parents have lost their jobs and have a very small income of money , therefore , leaving them to a tough decision of spending their money on their kid ’ s future or their kid ’ s health . In an interview with the professor of Eduardo Caballero , a public school close to ASFM where most families come from low-resourced communities , the professor started talking to us about how they dealt with this situation . “ Some parents are worried about their children ' s education and are sacrificing their financial situation to have access to the internet ” and “ They are faced with the dilemma of having food on the table vs giving them internet for education .”
At last , the lack of education that these kids are receiving is severely impacting their future . With a low economic income , these kids are expected to have a job as soon as they finish their education . With this system and the lack of resources they have to advance and complete their education , they are falling behind in their learning , therefore , extending the time until they get a job . In the interview , the professor mentioned “ So imagine the mother managing one phone to share between 3- 4 children .” meaning the children weren ’ t able to join all their classes and participate thoroughly in them .
It is devastating listening to these situations and the unfortunate impacts that this pandemic has had on the public school system and these low-resourced communities . With the great advantage that we students have , attending these events , being able to connect to school every day and every class is something we have to appreciate . I invite you all to think about these families , struggling to carry their kids ’ future , to maintain their family , and live a stable life . Dreams and futures are being destroyed because of this pandemic and we have to give back , support these communities , and use the education we receive to help others . To support the growth of our countries and help those who need it . Education is a key element to a stable and prosperous life , no one should have the disadvantage of restraining from it . Look around your country , be grateful for what you have , and give back to those who most need our help at these times .
