Cornell note-taking
Cornell note-taking is a method of taking notes that has been used by millions of students world-wide . The method involves dividing your notepaper into three unequal sections ( you will see this on the next page ): a cue / questions column , a note column and a summary area . It is thought that this format helps your brain understand and retain the information more effectively .
Additionally , the method provides a way of systematically reviewing the information through the question column – as this is completed after the notes have been taken and then used as a method of self-testing at regular intervals to help embed the information in your memory .
