Shop at a variety of local gift boutiques and stores , eat at one of our newsworthy restaurants , and enjoy the new lakewalk by sparkling Wayzata Bay . Wayzata ’ s mix of charm and sophistication is a perfect place for a mini get-a-way , an outing with friends , or a wonderful date night .
Get active by the lake , hitting the trails to bike , run or walk among the beautiful views ! The trailhead of the 44-mile Dakota Trail is easily accessible as is the Luce Line , which runs all the way from west central Minnesota to the Minneapolis lakes . Rent a paddle board and grab a snack at the Wayzata Beach concession stand or explore our beautiful village rich in history through a self-guided walking tour . The scenic parks and trails make for a great way to spend an afternoon . At the end of the day , stick around for a sunset happy hour on one of our lakeside patios .
Our community festivals draw people in from all over the nation . The Wayzata Art Experience , June 22-23 , is full of exquisite art , live music , and delicious cuisine set along scenic Lake Street on Wayzata Bay .
Celebrate the 50th James J . Hill Days Sept . 6 – 8 and experience all the fun activities the festival has to offer : carnival , dachshund races , food trucks , a craft brew festival , fireworks over Wayzata Bay and more .
Enjoy a crisp fall day trick-or-treating during Boo Blast and our spooktacular Halloween-themed race , the Boo Bash Dash , on Oct . 26 .
Wrap up the year during the Light Up the Lake Celebration , which includes the Wayzata Fire Department ’ s parade of lights and a tree lighting event on Nov . 29 .
Lastly , the Wayzata Chilly Open on Feb . 8 invites golfers to play a unique round of golf , enjoy live music and all-youcan-eat chili ; all on the frozen ice of Wayzata Bay .
