Brooklyn Park tax preparer
charged with tax fraud

A Brooklyn Park tax preparer was
charged with 15 counts of federal crimes
related to fraudulent tax returns.
United States Attorney Erica H. Mac-
Donald’s offi ce announced a federal in-
dictment charging Eric Willor, 69, also
known as “Papa Eric,” with 15 counts of
aiding and assisting in the preparation of
a false tax return.
According to MacDonald’s offi ce, Wil-
lor ran a tax preparation business out of
his Brooklyn Park home called Willor’s
Tax Preparation and Planning. Willor
allegedly prepared and fi led tax returns
using false and fraudulent itemized de-
ductions to obtain larger tax refunds
than his clients were entitled to.
Willor regularly prepared and fi led re-
turns claiming that his clients had signifi -
cant tax-deductible charitable donations,
medical expenses, and educational ex-
penses, the attorney’s offi ce said. Willor
knew these dedications were fraudulent
when he fi led the returns, according to
the attorney’s offi ce.
Willor allegedly fi led approximately
100 fraudulent tax returns that claimed
approximately $316,000 in tax refunds to
which his clients were not entitled.
The case was investigated by the Inter-
nal Revenue Service-Criminal Investiga-
tion Division, and will be prosecuted by
Assistant United States Attorney Joseph
H. Thompson.
