Sophomore Will Honnold me- daled in the 200 IM, taking fourth in 2 minutes, 6.73 seconds. Freshman Nick Fogle and senior Josh Bowar just missed making state in the diving competition on Feb. 22, but both reached the po- dium. Fogle was fi fth with a 330.7, and Bowar was sixth with a 327. Senior Khoi Pham, junior Sam Kohls, eighth-grader Avery Skeie and Honnold took fi fth in the 400 free relay in 3:33.62. The 200 medley relay took sixth. Senior Nick McGinley, Pham, Honnold and Skeie fi nished in 1:51.45. Junior Tyler Swenson, Kohls, Bowar and McGinley fi n- ished seventh in the 200 free relay in 1:43.08. Pham also medaled in the 500 free, taking seventh in 5:10.04. Kohls was ninth in the 200 free in 1:54.36 and was 10th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.02. Pham was ninth in the 200 IM in 2:07.89. Honnold was also ninth in the 100 butterfl y in 58.57. Skeie was 14th in the 50 free in 24.81, and he was 16th in the 100 free in 55.69. McGinley took 15th in the 500 free in 5:40.14 and 18th in the 100 backstroke in 1:09.02. Senior Sander Solsvik took 19th in the 200 IM in 2:34.1 and was 26th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.52. Meissner had to endure a tough physi- cal battle as he was determined to not let his recent stay in the hospital deter him from a chance to wrestle at state. Still recovering from mono, Meissner gritted out some intense wrestling to take second at 182 to earn his second straight trip to state. He has a 35-4 record and is ranked fi fth. Meissner won 7-6 over STMA’s Jonah Hayes in the semifi nals but forfeited the fi rst-place match with an injury. “His season has been a wonderful one that is still going,” Green said. Wayzata won with a 5AA section and pool record time of 1:36.14, and Spring Lake Park took second in 1:38.46, break- ing the state standard. He won a 7-1 decision over Wayzata’s Adam Cherne in the third-place match but lost 7-2 to STMA’s Isaiah Summer- ville in the second-place wrestleback. Other Orioles wrestled well at the sec- tion with everyone fi nishing on the po- dium. Sophomore Connor Spanier placed fourth at 106, and freshman John Lund- strom was fourth at 113. Junior Jack White fi nished fourth at 132, and freshman Vin- cent Toleno took sixth at 152. Freshman Aidan Wayne placed fourth at 160 ,and junior Connor Wayne was sixth at 195. Boerboom was 21st in 26.78, and Stohl- mann took ninth in the 100 free in 51.19. Eighth-grader Alain Pham was ninth in the 500 free in 5:24.97. Bruchmann (2:15.34), Pham (2:21.92) and Kalahar (2:36.56) finished 10th, 14th and 16th, respectively, in the 200 IM. Senior Andrew Meester finished 25th in 2:49.42. Mattys was 12th in the 100 breast- stroke in 1:10.65, and Boerboom took 22nd in 1:19.86. Freshman Tucker Gaspar (2:01.57) and Mattys (2:10.18) took 13th and 16th in the 200 free. Gaspar added a 12th-place finish in the 500 free in 5:33.11. Larsen was 20th in the 500 free in 5:59.68. Kalahar was 16th in the 100 back- stroke in 1:07.95, and freshmen Nick Ja- cobs (1:09.05), Gabe Kroening (1:09.1) and Aren Greenwood (1:11.68) finished 19th, 20th and 23rd, respectively. Larsen (1:11.14), Gabe Kroening (1:12), Greenwood (1:12.59) and Meester (1:19.87) finished 19th, 20th, 22nd and 24th, respectively. Jacobs (58.97) took 22nd in the 100 free.
