WACONIA
COMMUNITY | GUIDE 2025
Recreational opportunities abound
Waconia is packed with plenty of exciting things to do, no matter where your interests lie.
There is also an Olympic-sized lap and diving pool and a whirlpool hot tub.
SWIMMING
The only public beach on Lake Waconia is located at Lake Waconia Regional Park, which is found on the south shore of Lake Waconia near the site of the newly constructed park services building.
Get on Highway 5 and turn on Paradise Lane. The park is part of the Carver County park system which includes Baylor Park north of Norwood Young America and Minnewashta Park between Victoria and Chanhassen.
Lake Waconia Regional Park also includes a picnic shelter available for rent, bathrooms, playground, volleyball court, picnic tables and grills, and a sledding hill.
Safari Island, Waconia’ s community center, also offers indoor swimming opportunities with a zero grade pool with a two story waterslide and water playground for young children.
FISHING
Lake Waconia provides some of the best fishing in the metro area, with bass, walleye, northern pike, sunfish, crappies and many other types of fish calling it home.
A fishing pier is located at Cedar Point Park, near the tennis courts off of Lake Street.
Other local fishing holes include Parley Lake with a public access on its southwest shore, Reitz Lake with an access on the northwest shore, Pierson’ s Lake with an access on its west central shore, and Hydes Lake with a public access on its northeast shore.
While Burandt’ s Lake is actually connected to Lake Waconia by a series of streams and swamps, nearly all of its lake shore is privately owned and has no public access.
For bait or to rent a boat, pontoon or winter fish house, try Mase’ s In Towne Marina.
