St. Bonifacius creates community
With it’ s strong community bonds and quiet atmosphere, the city of St. Bonifacius sits right along Highway 7, just west of Lake Minnetonka and northeast of Lake Waconia. Though the city is entirely surrounded by the City of Minnetrista, St. Bonifacius, or St. Boni as it’ s affectionately called by its residents, is very much its own city with its own identity.
According to the latest statistics, more than 2,300 people reside within the 1.07 square miles that make up St. Bonifacius.
Missile Park is one of the bigger community draws in St. Bonifacius, playing host to many community events, including the city-wide Night to Unite held annually to honor and meet with the Minnetrista police officers who serve the area; and the annual Spass-Tagen celebration. Residents can enjoy nine other parks in the small city, including Wilbur Thurch Memorial Park, Hiddenview Park, Pauly Park and Towns Edge Lions Park.
The Dakota Rail Trail winds through St. Bonifacius as it travels over 21 miles through the West Metro. The trails travels directly next to St. Bonifacius City Hall, where residents and hikers from all over can park and enjoy the area.
One of the most well known and noticeable landmarks is St. Boniface Catholic Church, which is located at 4025 Main Street, St. Bonifacius 55375.
City Hall is located at 8655 Kennedy Memorial Drive, St. Bonifacius, MN 55375. Council meetings are held at 7 p. m. on first and third Wednesdays.
