Small-town charm alive in Hamburg
Since its founding in 1883, Hamburg has been an island around which the historic agricultural stream of Carver County has flowed.
Shielded from the hustle and bustle of the metro area by a network of picturesque farms and fertile fields, Hamburg residents nevertheless enjoy quick access to the metro area from their location in southwest Carver County.
Few locations in Carver County can match Hamburg when it comes to peaceful settings. Quiet pride emanates from beautiful parks, well-maintained homes and winding residential streets. While the city has maintained its small town charm, Hamburg also paved the way for future growth with the 2011 completion of a major sewer infrastructure improvement project that had been on the horizon for years.
Community spirit is on display in the construction of a Protective Services Memorial at Bicentennial Park. The memorial honors members of the military, fire departments, police departments and paramedics, and is a highly visible attraction in the city.
New and long-time businesses are interspaced throughout the city, and Hamburg also boasts a modern city hall and fire station at the edge of town.
A bank, post office, feed mill, road construction company and several retail businesses are also located in the city, and a church and parochial school are nearby as well.
At the heart of the city is the Hamburg Community Hall. The spacious gathering place hosts wedding receptions, fundraising events and a variety of other happenings throughout the year.
Residents are particularly proud of their recreational parks in Hamburg. Bicentennial Park has seen the installation of all new playground equipment through the efforts of involved community members.
Hamburg also offers residents and visitors one of the most picturesque baseball fields in Minnesota. The Hamburg Baseball Park has been the site of numerous state amateur tournaments, including the 2021 tournament that it co-hosted with Waconia and Chaska.
