SUPERINTENDENT By now most if not all of our seasonal members are back and enjoying the beautiful weather. We have been working to have the courses in good shape for everyone this golfing season. The staff is still working to wrap up several projects which are all designed to improve the function and aesthetics on the practice facility, club entrance, and both courses. We will soon be installing curbing at the range and at the clubhouse entrance drives. This will allow us to finish off the planting project at the front entrance as well as the added parking at the range. Coinciding with that, turf will be delivered for the fairway area on number 11 deer where the tree was removed. The curbing is scheduled for the first week of December and then we will finish up these projects by installing the sod and remaining plantings. Overseeding on Turtle Run started the week of November 18th with all tees and approaches being done. The fairways are being done on the 26th of November. Just a reminder that following seeding we will run heavy water for about 7-10 days. We will also have to wait until the seedlings are mature enough to be able to mow. This means that for a few weeks conditions will be slow on Turtle. Everything should be back to normal by mid-December. Just know that staff will be working to get everything firm and fast as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing everyone out on the courses. Keeping it green, Earl McMinn Superintendent 9
