LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
By the time you all read this newsletter the overseed should be up and growing and hopefully , weather permitting , we are into a normal rotation of mowing . We are going to try to direct traffic , as much as possible , this year through ropes and stakes to the overseed areas . This means whenever possible please drive your cart in the fairway . The cool season turf is actively growing and can recover . The Bermuda is not actively growing even though in some instances it may still be green . It also appears , from the weather in December , that it is shaping up to be a cool , wet winter which we have not had in several years . With this in mind , do your best to keep your cart away from any wet areas to avoid damaging the turf .
Staff will be working on continuing to improve your experience this golfing season with work on bunker areas and perimeters of holes . They will also be working to keep the greens rolling true with maintenance practices such as ninja tining , verti-cutting and topdressing .
We hope everyone enjoyed a safe and happy holiday season and we are excited to get into the meat of the golfing season .
Keep it green ,
Earl McMinn Superintendent
