SUPERINTENDENT Its that time of year when the courses are busy and the weather is a little unpredictable. We have had a pretty mild winter so far, though it does look like the last of January and the first part of February might have some cool mornings. Remember, if we do get some of the mornings where we have the potential for frost, it is important to check in with the golf shop before going out on the courses or the range. Frost damage this time of year from carts or feet tends to stick around until better growing weather in March or April. We hope everyone is enjoying the overseeded fairways on Turtle Run. This cool season grass flourishes with the cooler night time temps, and it is able to recover much quicker from traffic damage than the warm season Bermuda. With that in mind, we ask that when on Turtle please drive in the fairways whenever possible. We would much rather the traffic be on the overseed than the surrounding roughs when you are out on the golf course. We look forward to a great rest of the season and look forward to seeing everyone out on the courses. Keeping it green, Earl McMinn Superintendent 5
