OFFICER'S REPORTS
WDALA’s 2016 Fall Seminar was held on September 13 and 14 at the Holiday Inn, North Bismarck. We heard from some wonderful speakers on topics that included the Jamaican lottery scam, consumer protection, ethics, human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The Bismarck Education Committee did a wonderful job of organizing the seminar and the presentations were fascinating. I came away just a “tad” more anxious about raising a daughter in this day and age!
I am working on lining up a lunch webinar with WestLaw for this fall/winter, so stay tuned for more information to come on that.
The Minot Education Committee will soon begin planning for the spring 2017 seminar. We already have one speaker committed, but will have three more slots to fill. Let me know if there are any suggestions for topics.
Hello WDALA Members. What a short, but amazing year. September of 2015 to 2016 was my first year as a member. Throughout this last year, I’ve been given the chance to come forward and serve our local association. What I didn’t expect from this last year was all the wonderful volunteer work that the association does, the time and effort each member contributes, and the close comradery within the association. That is why I didn’t hesitate when asked to be nominated as the Second Vice President. So with that, I’ll keep this short. We have a new member: Bonnie Banks. Welcome Bonnie! We currently have 36 total members. Once I complete the final touches on the membership roster, I will send it out to everyone and ask to have it posted on the WDALA website.
If you have any questions or changes to your contact information, please email me at [email protected].
Thank you.
