Treasurer's Report
Happy ???Spring??? everyone!
The checkbook balance as of April 16, 2018 is $14,249.99. Just a reminder to register for the Spring Seminar in Minot on April 25th. Information can be found on our website: www.wdala.org. WDALA has a post office box so everything gets mailed there instead of to individual persons as in the past (P.O. Box 371, Bismarck, ND 58502-0371).
It seems like winter just doesn't want to leave North Dakota this year. I don't want to complain as we really need the moisture, but I am about ready to buy a sun lamp for my desk as I know my mood is definitely off when there isn't a lot of sunshine. Most of you know that I am not a lover of heat, but lately...
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and are enjoying the wind down of another school year, somehow our daughter is graduating from college which means two (2) years have really flown by. I know kids (and parents) are excited to play baseball, softball, football and even just participate in a walk or playing on a playground.
Hope to see everyone in Minot, and/or sometime this summer, and/or at the Fall Seminar September 18 and 19 in Bismarck.
P.S. Remember how at the beginning of the year we made goals to eat healthier, exercise regularly, drink more water, read, play piano more, etc. Somehow three (3) months have flown by and my motivation has hit the bottom again. SO: "Stop making excuses and start looking for solutions! There is always a way. It may not be exactly how you picture it in your head, but if you just start, you'll get there." –Stepheni Zamora
Fall Seminar:
The Fall Seminar Committee has been busy lining up speakers. We will then move on to donations, door prizes, finalizing meal/break plans, obtaining SBAND and NALA CLE approval, etc. Please mark your (and even your boss') calendars for September 18 and 19. We will kick off the event at the Heritage Center with registration on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The first speaker will commence at 10 am. While the Board meets from 11:45 – 12:30, we invite seminar attendees to tour the building/grounds. There is an eatery at the Heritage Center and at the Capitol (excellent food at both places). We will start again at 1 p.m. with an afternoon of information with Mark Lanterman and Justice Crothers.
Wednesday's seminar will commence with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the first speaker of the day at 8 a.m. We will conclude both days by 4:25 pm so as to be out of the building by 5 p.m. We expect registration information to be sent to the membership in June/July.
