Summons Summer 2017 | Page 4

Happy Spring to all! This is my favorite time of year - when the snow is all (or mostly) gone and we can pat ourselves on the back for surviving another North Dakota winter, with several months of more pleasant weather to come. One of my goals for this year is to spend as much time outdoors as possible and keep moving, because you either “move it” or “lose it!”

WDALA’s Spring Seminar will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd at the Sleep Inn &

Suites in Minot. As of the time of this writing, we have 19 registrants, and I expect a few more to trickle in by the date of the seminar.

The Spring Seminar has a great lineup of speakers and topics, including Attorney Diane Lautt of Howard &

Associates, P.C., who will speak about ethical considerations in working with clients with diminished capacity; Attorney Aften Grant of McGee, Hankla & Backes, P.C., who will speak about family and domestic law; Special Agent Darrik Trudell of Homeland Security Investigations, who will speak about a recent North Dakota murder-for-hire case and other current issues; and Attorney Mark Larson, who will speak about personal injury.

WDALA’s Fall Seminar is scheduled for September 19 and 20, 2017, at the Heritage Center in Bismarck. Stay tuned for addition- additional information in the near future.

I want to thank everyone who is involved in planning for the seminars. We couldn't do it without you!
