Summons Spring/Summer 2019 | Page 8

1. Where do you work and what is your practice area?

I presently work for a company based out of Brentwood, TN called SpecialtyCare. We provide operating room equipment and surgical instrumentation for Sanford Bismarck.

2. What is your educational background?

I graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota.

I recently completed a Paralegal Certificate program offered by the University of North Dakota through the Center for Legal Studies in Evergreen, CO.

3. How long have you been in the legal field?

I have yet to work or volunteer in the field but look forward to expanding my knowledge, interest, and experience in the law.

4. Why did you decide to join the legal field?

I have had an interest in the law since I was in high school. I shiver at the thought of how long ago that was. I chose medicine versus law and have had the “What ifs” ever since. I enrolled in the Paralegal Certificate program out of shear interest, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

5. How have you benefited from WDALA?

I just enrolled in WDALA and look forward to everything it has to offer.

6. What prior jobs did you have before you entered the legal field?

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve worked for a number of years in the operating room and sterile processing areas for Sanford providing customer service and support to surgeons and OR staff. I have also worked in physical therapy departments, chiropractic clinics, and gyms in a number of capacities including patient care, management, and office support.

7. What is the best advice you have received?

Two things come to mind…

Always be the example and never the exception.

A successful person does not know everything but utilizes all the people and resources available to them.

8. What have been your biggest accomplishments in life?

Not to sound cliché but being a good father and a good husband will always be at the top my list of accomplishments.

9. What is your favorite movie and/or book?

Movie: Tie between the Untouchables and Tombstone.

Book: The Hound of the Baskervilles.

10. Tell us about your family.

I am married and have three boys and a girl. We also have two cats and a dog that definitely runs the house.

11. What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include fitness and exercise, playing guitar, watching baseball and football, and trying to spend time with my children who are getting too old to “hang” with their old man.

12. Tell us one thing about yourself that people might be surprised to find out.

I have been playing in rock bands since

I was fifteen.

13. What is one goal you have set for the

year and how do you plan to achieve it?

A goal that I set for myself this year is to

focus a little more on myself. As the kids

are getting older and I have more time for

myself, I plan to do some of the things that

have been put off and spend time on my

interests. The first step in doing so was

taking the paralegal class.

14. Is there anything else you would like us to

know about you?

I am glad to be a part of your association.

Thank you for welcoming me.
