Salvete omnes! Why Augustus?

Augustus was certainly not perfect. But out of the many figures of Ancient Rome, he would be one to identify with the motto "emitur sola virtute potestas" - power is purchased by virtue alone. Augustus was a bold leader who built an empire and famously brought Rome from a city of bricks to a city of

marble. (Plus I found a cool

bust of him in a Latin room, so, you know.) Despite the virus-that-shall-not-be-named, we still made it a great year. Augustus would be proud. Happy 2022!
