SPS Sports Specialty Clinics
SPS Basketball Clinic
For aspiring athletes looking to discover their
competitive edge. You do not need to be a Sandia Prep
student to participate.
These week-long, instruction-oriented clinics are geared
toward athletic students interested in improving their
basketball skills. Enrollment is limited, so be sure to
register early. This year, Sandia Prep will offer two clinics
for basketball enthusiasts in our state-of-the-art Field
House. Both basketball clinics will be led by
SPS Boys Varsity Basketball Coaches Willie Owens and
Brian Tregembo.
Director and Coach Willie Owens has served as Head
Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Sandia Preparatory
School for 20 years. He has developed one of the
strongest basketball programs in New Mexico, guiding
the Sundevils to over 300 wins, including three District
titles, two Regional berths and four State Semi-Final
berths, including a State runner-up finish in 2010 and
2011. Willie was chosen as Albuquerque Metro High
School Boys Basketball Coach of the Year for 2005. He is
also the Dean of Students for 9th/10th Grade.
Coach Brian Tregembo has been at Sandia Prep twelve
years, where he is Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball
Coach. This coming season will be Tregembo’s 18th
season as a coach in New Mexico. Coach Tregembo is
also a full-time educator at Sandia Prep, teaching
English to students in grades 6 and 8 and serving as
Dean of Students for 7th/8th Grade .

May 27 – 30 8 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Grades 9 – 12 SPS Basketball Afternoon Clinic
June 2 – 5 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Tuition $115 per week *Not eligible for discount pricing.
Don’t forget to bring: shorts and a t-shirt, proper
footwear, snacks from home. We provide: water –

SPS Soccer Clinic
Sandia Prep’s talented coaches conduct instructional
summer sports clinics for aspiring athletes looking to
discover their competitive edge. SPS Sports Clinics are
open to boys and girls entering grades 4 – 12. You do not
need to be a Sandia Prep student to participate. These
weeklong, instruction-oriented camps are geared toward
athletic students interested in improving their soccer
skills. Enrollment is limited, so be sure to register early.
This year, Sandia Prep will offer a one-week clinic for
soccer enthusiasts in our terrific facilities, which
include three regulation soccer fields.
Director and Coach Tommy Smith is the Boys Varsity
Soccer Coach at Sandia Preparatory School. Since joining
Sandia Prep’s faculty, he has led the Sundevils to ten
A-AAA State Championships and three finishes as state
runners-up. In 2006, the Sundevils were ranked 4th
nationally. A former UNM Lobo soccer player, Tommy
played professionally for ten years. He holds a USSF A
coaching license and a USSF National Youth License.
Tommy was chosen as the New Mexico Boys High
School Soccer Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003, 2004,
2010, 2012, and 2013.

weeklong, instruction-oriented clinics are geared toward
athletic students interested in improving their volleyball
skills. Enrollment is limited, so be sure to register early.
This year, Sandia Prep will offer two clinics for volleyball
enthusiasts in our terrific facilities. The clinic will be led
by Audra Gentry.

SPS Baseball Clinic

open to boys and girls entering grades 4 – 8. You do not
need to be a Sandia Prep student to participate. These

athletic students interested in improving their baseball
skills. Enrollment is limited, so be sure to register early.
This year, Sandia Prep will offer the Middle School
All Skills Clinic for baseball enthusiasts. The baseball
clinic will be led by SPS Varsity Baseball Coach Paul
Huitt. Paul will also be available for individual pitching
lessons by appointment only.
Director and Coach Paul Huitt is the Varsity Baseball
Coach at Sandia Preparatory School. He has coached
baseball at Sandia Prep for the past thirteen seasons.
His teams have won four State titles (2001, 2005, 2009
and 2011) and the 2005 team finished the season 28 - 1.
In 2007, Coach Huitt had the honor to be an Assistant
