La Cage Aux Folles The story of a flamboyant gay couple-Georges, the manager of a Saint –Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction. When Georges’s son brings home his fiances’s ultraconservative parents to meet them the farcical adventures ensue. Escaping Queens is Santa Cruz
composer Joe Ortiz’s musical memoir, making its world premier at Cabrillo Stage on August 10th. In the shadow of the Queensboro Bridge lies the heart-rending and comic story of an immigrant family. Through the eyes of a young boy, we meet a zany cast of jubilant characters-a gambling Puerto Rican father, a nurturing Italian mother, a love crazed teenager, a lurking neighborhood bookie and Do Wop kids singing on the street corner-who weave the tale of a desperate escape from New York.

Celebrating over 30 years of Shakespeare Santa Cruz
Shakespeare Santa Cruz located on the UCSC campus will present two plays by William Shakespeare, Taming of the Shrew and Henry V. Also, Tom Jones, adopted from the novel of Henry Fielding. will be presented during this season running from July 23 through September 1st with Shakespeare Unscripted being presented October 13th as a benefit for SSC. The summer season performances take place outdoors, nestled into the amazing redwoods of UCSC at the Sinsheimer-Stanley Festival Glen.
