Meet Your New Superintendent of Recreation

Liz Visteen is the new Superintendent of Recreation for the Park District of Franklin Park . She oversees all programs and events within the Recreation Department . Liz graduated from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science where she studied Physical Therapy .
Liz started her career in parks and recreation 20 years ago as a Program Supervisor for the Park District of Oak Park . After 15 years in Oak Park , she began working for the Glencoe Park District as a Program Manager . Most recently , she was employed with the Park District of Highland Park as Recreation Supervisor . Liz has stayed very involved in the Illinois Park & Recreation Association by participating in the Recreation Committee and Park Pursuit Events . She even received the Recreation Section Distinguished Member Award from the Illinois Park & Recreation Association in 2019 !
Outside of work , Liz enjoys reading , attending plays , and spending time with her family , friends and dog . As the new Superintendent , Liz is looking forward to getting to know the community and bringing fresh ideas to the Park District . She aims to bring the community closer by implementing even more family-oriented events and programs .

Meet Your New Hockey Director

The Franklin Park Ice Arena is excited to welcome our new Hockey Director Brandon Niedziela . Those involved at the Ice Arena may already know Brandon . He is a current head coach and coordinator of our Gold Mites team . He has also been involved with our Junior Panthers , Panther Paws and Panther Hockey clinics over the past several years .
Brandon ’ s hockey roots were planted right here at the Franklin Park Ice Arena ! He grew up playing in the Panthers Hockey program . In high school , he played for Leyden Hockey and then went on to play for both Robert Morris University and Northern Illinois University . Brandon ’ s hockey background has now come full circle as his own son Easton is playing in the same Panthers program .

Brandon is motivated and eager to take on this new full-time role as Hockey Director . We are confident in his ability to lead all of our hockey programming , both youth and adults , in a positive direction .
