Founded in 1432, Sevenoaks enjoys a global reputation as a centre of academic excellence and a flagship school for the International Baccalaureate. A co-educational day and boarding school, it offers a stimulating, intellectually demanding and balanced education for pupils from the age of 11 to 18.
Inspiring facilities, together with expert, enthusiastic and imaginative teaching, provide rich opportunities for students participating in lessons and a wide variety of sports and the performing and visual arts. The school’ s international student body and outlook promote the principles of tolerance and open-mindedness. About 450 pupils board in the eight boarding houses, and students originate from over 50 countries worldwide.
Sevenoaks was The Sunday Times Co-educational Independent School of the Year 2023. In 2025, Sevenoaks received The Week’ s‘ Best of the best for the IB’ accolade in its Independent Schools Guide. The school’ s pastoral care and work with the Harvard Human Flourishing Program was recognised with the Independent Schools of the Year 2023 award for wellbeing.
Sevenoaks is one of the world’ s most successful IB schools, and is the topperforming fully co-educational IB school in the UK, with one of the largest cohorts among global IB schools. In 2025, our average Diploma score was 39.4 points, around 10 points above the world average, with 11 students gaining 45 points and more than 50 per cent gaining 40 points or more.
