There was no space for those who didn’t believe that America was in the right and that the Soviets were in the wrong. Overall the exhibit offered amazing artifacts that you could not get anywhere else in the U.S. yet the story it told was one so biased that it almost made me hesitant to go back to it. They used new media in nearly all its forms, but used them to truly shape an opinion. The exhibit was made for young people who have no memory of the Berlin Wall and extremely patriotic Americans.

For anyone even slightly knowledgeable or researched in the subject, it was almost insulting. It dumbed down a major part of history into a “rally around the flag” exhibit. It saddened me to know that instead of showing the magnificent artifacts they had the newseum turned the exhibit into a relic of the Cold War, encouraging the idea that America and the West is always right and better than the East.
