MEET THE ZOO CREW
Whether you are an animal lover , a parent with little ones or just someone looking for a sunny day outing , Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence has something for everyone .
The zoo is home to more than 160 different species of animals , many of whom are on the endangered or threatened species list .
ROAM THE ZOO — A HOME FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES When you visit Roger Williams Park Zoo , you are helping to bolster the conservation work that the zoo staff performs daily trying to save and protect animals around the world . A visit with African elephants and Masai giraffes in the Fabric of Africa area , a walk through Marco Polo ’ s adventure trek to see moon bears , snow leopards and red pandas or a stop in the World of Adaptations with the river otters and binturong means you and your family are learning about the plight of species from all corners of the Earth . Step into the Faces of the Rainforest exhibit and experience a tropical paradise right here in Rhode Island with beautiful macaws , a giant anteater , a variety of primates ( including howler and titi monkeys ), interesting amphibians and intriguing reptiles . Take advantage of the zoo ’ s new Wild Connections program , which offers opportunities for private animal encounters .
EXPLORE AND SOAR No zoo visit is complete without a stop at the Explore and Soar area . First , enjoy a family-friendly excursion aboard the Woodlands Explorer . Then , fly 115 feet in the air on the Soaring Eagle Zip Ride and get a breathtaking bird ’ s eye view of the zoo and the Providence cityscape . Both rides are open daily , with tickets available for purchase at the Explore and Soar ticket booth .
SIP AND STROLL Sip yummy alcoholic beverages and stroll through the zoo on May 13 during this special adults-only summer event series . Indulge in various culinary delights from local food trucks while exploring prehistoric times with the Dinosaurs Among Us experience .

Paia , which means fire , was named after her mom ’ s feisty personality . Born to mom Keweng ( pronounced kay-wing ) and dad Morobe , Matschie ’ s treekangaroos are endangered , so this little girl is extra special . The zoo participates in the Tree Kangaroo Species Survival Plan , which focuses on breeding to ensure the survival of this endangered species .

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Travel back in time with the zoo ’ s immersive Dinosaurs Among Us exhibit through Aug . 13 with nearly sixty life-size animatronic and interactive dinosaurs along the wetlands trail . Don ’ t miss the walking dinosaur rides , snapping a selfie at the dinosaur-themed stations , meet-andgreets with baby dinosaurs and hands-on fossil dig stations . Separate tickets from zoo admission are required for the exhibit .

BIRD IS THE WORD Birds take flight at the zoo this year as they display their natural behaviors and abilities during daily shows through Sept . 4 . Get an up-close look at falcons , macaws , cranes , owls and more as they fly , call and mimic their interpreter , along with some surprise encounters that make this a don ’ t-miss treat !
