LEADING with EXCELLENCE Strategic Plan 2023-2026
In March , the Park Board approved the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan , which outlines , at a high-level , where the Park District will invest its resources to fulfill our mission and realize our vision for the next three years . This plan was developed through community , staff , and stakeholder input , and I ’ m excited to see the plan come to life . View the full plan here .
Among the initiatives is a continued commitment to the stewardship of our natural resources and to environmental responsibility . This summer , we are pleased to collaborate with Greener Glenview on an exciting series of free programs at The Grove to teach people how to become citizen-scientists using their smartphones . Greener Glenview was a recipient of this year ’ s Judy Beck Grant program . Greener Glenview is also planning a sports equipment swap event in late August at Park Center .
Also in March , we opened four new dedicated pickleball courts at Gallery Park ! We are also offering the ability to reserve a court for play at Flick Park during the summer season based on resident feedback . Pickleball has continued to grow as a community sport in Glenview and so this summer , we will be conducting a feasibility study to assess the need for additional courts and potential site locations . As part of this process , we will be asking for resident feedback through public meetings and a survey .
I want to thank outgoing Commissioners Jen Roberts and Dan Peterson for their combined 18 years of dedicated service . Commissioner Dave Dillon will step in as the new Glenview Park District Board President for the coming year . The Board will welcome new Commissioners Jen Adams and Kim Vazquez at the May 25 Park Board meeting .
